Based on the present situation in India, whenever a person wants to buy a new handset, the first brand that comes to his/her mind is Nokia. Maybe that's the reason I chose to buy a Nokia handset when my father gave me money to buy a phone of my choice. I headed straight to the Nokia Priority Dealer store and bought the Nokia 6233 handset which I found suited me best. Within a few days, I was able to familiarise myself with the functions and applications of the new handset.
To me, I don’t think the Nokia 6233 is the set in which the JAVA platform has been wisely used. But it has several features which kept it distinctly ahead compared to other mobile phones. Among all the features, I felt that the best feature is messaging. The most common problem with the Symbian phones is that it takes a long time to open files as the number of messages increases. However, these problems were not found in phones with Java platform. The only problem encountered is that it takes a while to switch on the phone with the increase in number of messages. The most outstanding feature of the handset is the smooth keypads, delivering quick response, and thus, enabling quicker and easier messaging experience. When one of my friends, who own a Nokia 5300 XpressMusic handset, used my handset for a week, she was attracted to the messaging feature as well. Similarly, another friend who owns a Nokia N73 handset also echoes the same preference.
As a Nokia 6233 user since 6th August 2007, I can proudly say that the handset performs the basic functions of calling and messaging in the best way. It is solely based on these reasons that I can’t even think of another brand the next time I decide to buy a new handset with more advanced functions*.
