    1. Nokia India Online Support Experience

I still remember the first Nokia device that I bought, which was Nokia 6670. That was my first encounter with an S60 device. I was really impressed with the amount of things one can do with it. But after a couple of months, I heard on TV about the battery BL-5C issue. At first, I was scared and confused as my city does not have any Nokia Care Centre at that time. But thankfully, I got hold of the web address to check my battery number online. I was so happy to find out that it was ok. There were 2 things that made me a stronger supporter of Nokia right then:-

    (a) I was introduced to a whole new online world of Nokia. The best part was that you got to know about many of your queries, devices, news etc. right from Nokia itself rather than the third party shops, which in itself was a certification of the correctness of things

    (b) Easy access to most of our questions even in remote towns which didn’t have a Nokia Care shop like mine was welcoming. This proved that Nokia is committed to its customers

    2. Tips & Tricks

Today I want my mobile to be able to multi-task. But to achieve this I also want it to have a decent battery back up. Thus, I employed simple but helpful tricks to increase my device’s battery life. These are:-

    (a) Switch GSM option from Network Settings (As India at present has no 3G)

    (b) Switch off Bluetooth when not in use

    (c) GPS services like (Nokia viNe, Nokia Maps, Sportstracker etc.) consume a lot of battery, so use them only when needed

    (d) Switch WLAN Search Off

    (e) Light Brightness and Power Saver when reduced can also help increase battery life

For speeding up my device I employed the following tricks:-

    (a) First and foremost is keeping my Device Firmware up to date. Not only it helps to remove certain bugs but it also helps to increase device speed

    (b) Close Applications which are open in background (Press and hold the Menu Key and then select the application and press the ‘C’ key to close them). This also helps to conserve battery

    (c) Use Shortcut Keys. For E.g. Using Speed Dial for frequently called numbers, holding down 0 (Zero) to open web browser, holding down 1 for voice mailbox, holding down the # key to switch between Silent & General profiles, holding down the camera key to open camera viewfinder, Making use of the top Navigation bar with shortcuts for my frequently used applications, Using pencil key for quickly marking/unmarking various items and for copy & paste, * key helps to move between different views in calendar, type a number and press #key to see phone number on SIM directory at that location etc

    3.

    My Favourite Applications

Some of the applications that I love to use are:-

    (a) Nokia Sportstracker: To be honest, I hardly did any outdoor activities, but with the help of Nokia Sportstracker, I now love to go for a jog and compare the results with my friends. It is a great tool to keep a geo-tagged track of your workouts

    (b) Nokia viNe: It enables you to share your pictures and media files with your friends and the world. The best part being that you don’t need to a laptop to do this

    (c) N-Gage: Finally, the light part of things. This makes my device into a gaming gadget with amazing 3D graphics. Simply love it
